Unlocking a Sustainable Future for AlUla

AlUla Design Style

Products of our Environment

Tim Peck, Chairman of OBMI and leader of the Island Living Studio, led a 67-minute virtual panel on the significance of design, emphasising its roots in local identity and values. Highlighting AlUla’s design elements, like the geometric patterns of Al Jadidah and local colour palettes, he stressed the importance of maintaining local identity amidst global pressures to ensure the value of AlUla’s products for both visitors and locals, aligning with the Royal Commission for AlUla’s (RCU) sustainability values.

The panel aimed to explore optimal product design strategies in AlUla, featuring insights from Cyril Zammit, Design Advisor; Sumayya Vally, Principal at Counterspace; Tarek Elkassouf, a multifaceted artist; and Raghad Hazzazi from RCU.
